Hello again, my name is Susan Fuquay.
I have lived in Yuma, AZ for over 35 years. I received my Certification in Paralegal Studies from the University of Southern Colorado.
I have been preparing legal documents since the early 1990's.
I have worked for three different attorneys, preforming paralegal and secretarial duties.
I have been an Arizona Certified Legal Document Preparer (LDP) since March 2008.
An LDP is an individual who has successfully met the stringent requirements of the Arizona Code of Judicial Administration and is certified and authorized to prepare and/or provide legal documents and general instructions, without the supervision of an attorney, for an entity or a member of the public who is engaging in self-representation in any legal matter, and Any communication between the CONSUMER and the LDP will be treated as confidential, however the privilege of attorney-client confidential communications is not extended to certified legal document preparers, and
The LDP cannot appear in court to assist the CONSUMER, unless otherwise ordered by the court, and
The LDP is not a lawyer, is not employed by a lawyer, and cannot give legal advice, and
The LDP is authorized to provide general factual information pertaining to legal rights, procedures, or options available to a person in a legal matter when that person is not represented by an attorney, but may not provide any kind of specific advice, opinion, or recommendation to a CONSUMER about possible legal rights, remedies, defenses, options, or strategies, and
The LDP is authorized to file and arrange for service of legal forms and documents for a person in a legal matter when that person is not represented by an attorney, and
The LDP may consult, associate, collaborate with, and involve other professionals in order to assist the CONSUMER, and
The documents prepared by the LDP will be prepared in Microsoft Word® and a hard copy of the document(s) will be mailed or delivered to the CONSUMER at the address they provided, and the documents may also be sent as attachments in an E-mail.
Please Note: Laws and regulations change regularly. I am an Arizona Certified Legal Document Preparer, not an attorney. I do not give specific legal advice. Communication with an LDP is confidential but is not the same as attorney-client privileged communication. If you need specific legal advice or "privileged" communication, please consult an attorney.
